It's sad, but apps do die. The Discovery Trail app is one example. I created this app for a great local organization, the Discovery Trail, that is dedicated to promoting science, nature and culture.
This was also one of my earliest apps and makes heavy use of the Trail's photographs and retains the branding and colors from their web site. This was developed as an iOS only app and you can see many of the original Apple design elements - the list disclosure buttons, the "Back" button in the titlebar, even the "info" button on the home screen.
The app was designed to deliver most of the important information to the user even if she did not have a wifi or cell connection. However, it also integrated with their web site to deliver current events and news. This was a fun app to create and a great organization to support.
